Researchers and specialists working in Luke provide new solutions towards the sustainable development of the Finnish bioeconomy and the promotion of new biobased businesses. Together with our partners we will build a society based on bioeconomy.

The focus areas of our research are Boreal Green Bioeconomy, Blue Bioeconomy, Innovative Food Chain and Natural Resources Economy in the Society. Luke also carries out statutory government work. We monitor natural resources, certify plant production, inspect control agents, store genetic resources, produce data on greenhouse gases, support natural resource policies and produce Finland’s official food and natural resource statistics.
