The Industrial Union
The Industrial Union is the largest industrial trade union in Finland. The union has more than 200,000 members who work in 35 industries. Members of the Industrial Union operate in several sectors of the bioeconomy. Collective interest representation of various sectors of the parties in the labour market is an essential part of our operation.
Agriculture and forestry lay the foundations for the bioeconomy. Supervision of employment matters in forest management and logging occurs with awareness of the benefits offered by forest nature.
Matters on working life and employment relationships in mechanical woodworking, wood construction and carpentry in the wood products sector are a significant part of the Industrial Union’s representation of employee interests in industrial business based on forestry.
The chemical industry is an enabler of the bioeconomy and circular economy, manufacturing intermediate products and chemicals for further use in different fields.
Machinery and equipment manufacturing in the technology industry serves the bioeconomy, and manufacturing and further processing of biomass.
